Louise’s first involvement with metalwork was a jewellery design class, taken alongside studying for her ‘A’ levels. She then took a 2 year BTEC National diploma course in Jewellery design, before moving on to the Surrey Institute of Art and Design. She graduated in 2001, with a BA honours degree in Three Dimensional Design: Metalwork and Jewellery. It was during her time here that her love for blacksmithing and metalwork evolved.
After moving to France in 2005 she was finally able to fulfil her ambition of setting up her own workshop/forge. Her current work is of an artistic/sculptural nature, predominantly from a mixture of steel and copper, using a variety of traditional techniques to create unique and individual pieces of handcrafted metal art.
